Take advantage of your holiday in a nature campsite to discover the magnificent scenery aboard a canoe as you travel down the river while admiring the gorges!
You can explore the regions of Centre-Val-de-Loire and Bourgogne, just 2 hours and 3 hours from Paris respectively, while paddling a canoe and admiring the beauty of the Loire, the largest wild river in Europe. You can paddle downstream from Camping de Nevers or Camping de l’île. You will be enchanted by the birdsong, water currents, quiet sandy beaches and much more. This is an ideal moment to stop for a picnic; you will feel alone in the world, with only your loved ones and beautiful nature for company! Don’t forget to take along a bottle of Pouilly Fumé or Sancerre, so you can enjoy a delicious glass of wine with the famous ‘Crottin de Chavignol’ cheese.
If you love chateaux, medieval towns and unspoilt nature, then head straight for Auvergne and Camping de la Bageasse close to Allier Gorges, or for Corrèze and Camping de Collonges-la-Rouge near the Dordogne Valley. You will be able to admire exceptional landscapes and create unforgettable memories… Remember to take your camera along to capture these great moments, before jumping into the water!
If you would prefer a peaceful walk, you can visit the large lakes around Morvan when you stay at Camping de Saulieu; or travel farther south to Camping du Lac de Saint-Pardoux in Haute-Vienne, where the campsite is located on the banks of Lake Saint-Pardoux; or there is even Lake Valette beside Camping du Lac in Corrèze.
