Rivers are often good spots for freshwater fishing and the Allier Gorges in Haute-Loire are a dream location for this activity. So remember to take your fishing rod when you stay at Camping de la Bageasse!
Farther on downstream in Nièvre, at Camping de Nevers, you will be able to fish in the Loire River right from your camping pitch, without getting wet! If you prefer the calm waters of lakes and pools, head for Camping de Bourbon-Lancy or Camping de Matour in the Saône-et-Loire. What will you find on the end of your hook? Fish such as pike-perch, pike, perch, carp and bullhead. But be careful a heron doesn’t take off with your catch!
To make the most of the calm and tranquillity of the large lakes, stop off at Morvan Regional Nature Park. You will find carp, predatory fish and crayfish at Lake Pannecière and Lake Settons, near our Camping de Saulieu campsite.
Many people come to fish in Lake Saint-Pardoux in Haute-Vienne, where they compete with one another every year in this natural setting. Our 4-star Camping du Lac de Saint-Pardoux is the ideal place to stay during this competition, as you are right next to the water. You can also find a similar setting at Camping du Lac in Marcillac-la-Croisille in Corrèze.
