The island of La Barthelasse, where our 4-star Camping du Pont d’Avignon campsite is located, provides a spectacular view of the famous Saint-Bénézet Bridge and the majestic Palace of the Popes. This is the site of the largest river in Europe, with beautiful natural surroundings where you can enjoy a hike and breathe in the fresh air before setting of to visit Avignon. This mythical town has a wealth of cultural heritage in a theatrical setting, especially in July during the famous international Avignon Festival!
There are a great number of wonderful places to explore, from the perched villages in Lubéron, many of which are classed as the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’, to Provençal Colorado, Lourmarin Chateau, the Ochre Trail in Roussillon, etc. Roussillon is a charming village in flamboyant shades of red, orange and yellow, where you can stroll among the cobbled streets.

Allow yourself to be led along by the delicate heady scent and pretty shade of purple, as you pass through kilometres of natural landscapes to arrive at the delightful village of Sault, then the medieval village of Simiane-la-Rotonde and finally, Ganagobie Monastry.
