Our campsites are located along many cycling routes, so they are an ideal stopover as you are travelling through! Loire à Vélo, EuroVelo 6 and Tour de Bourgogne are just a few. This is why most of our campsites have obtained the ‘Accueil Vélo’ tourist label and make the appropriate cycling services available. For people who like to travel light and just enjoy walks on the neighbouring Green Ways, you can take advantage of our on-site bicycle or mountain bike rentals.
Enjoy a trip along this exceptional cycling route that extends for 900km along the Loire River, the last wild river in Europe. The safe, signposted paths stretch from Nevers to the Atlantic, making it simple to use and an ideal itinerary for families. The ‘Loire à Vélo’ cycling route begins in the centre of France, close to our Camping de Nevers campsite. Only a few hundred metres away, you can visit Apremont-sur-Allier, one of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’, with its superb flower garden and chateau overlooking the village. Take full advantage of the splendid landscapes in the surrounding countryside, such as Bec d’Allier with its weathered cliffs and sandbanks. A little extra effort will lead you to Sancerre in the heart of some of the best vineyards in Centre-Val-de-loire. This is a heavenly spot to stop for a well-earned rest: visit some of the local wine estates and cellars, where you can taste the delicious wines. You can spend a relaxing stay at our Camping de l’île campsite near Cosne-sur-Loire.
Are you a lover of history and chateaux? Then we can recommend you stop off at Camping de Montlouis-sur-Loire and benefit from its great location close to the Loire chateaux. Allow yourself time between all the pedalling to appreciate the superb scenery and gardens. Many chateaux are dotted along the banks of this royal river, including the famous chateaux of Amboise, Chenonceau and Chambord. And if all the visiting makes you hungry, you can head for the Tomato Bar at Bourdaisière Chateau just a few metres from the campsite.
